Very nicely furnished unit with an electric kettle and a fridge. Very clean bed; lovely bathroom. Central location, around 10-15 minutes walk from St James Church.

IMHO, hotel is a very overpriced - i paid 170NZD for the room, while in Queenstown i paid just 250NZD for two bedroom/bathroom apartments at Oak Shores with lakeview! Here for company of three i had to book two rooms so i end up paying 340NZD. I would say that this hotel needs serious bathroom upgrade - everything is very old and outdated.

The location is a short walk to the Hot Springs, and right in town a close walk to all operators. We could see the Glacier from our window when the clouds lifted. Staff gave clear direction to requests, were very helpful and converted credit card payment to home currency.

excellent access to parks and trails for city strolls
I was thrilled by how close the West Coast Wildlife Centre and the beautiful Terrace Walk were. It enhanced my weekend wandering through the area, letting me soak in all the amazing sights and sounds. As a solo traveler, I appreciated that the nearby attractions allowed for leisurely strolls, turning each day into a mini adventure.

Everything was very comfortable, patient staff, stunning views of unweeded garden and entire block of uncleaned Rooms. The hotel had a clean restaurant with amazing food and service.

Highly recommend, one of the best places to stay in Franz Josef. Rooms were really big, clean and high quality. Located right in the centre and staff were really helpful

The staff reacted well to the few questions and needs that we had during our stay. The setting was stunning!
The weather but not the hotel's fault. Ambience spoilt a little by the number of coach parties staying at the hotel - always seemed to be groups of people milling around and smoking

Staff friendly, helpful and courteous. Location close to the glacier was excellent for views of beautiful scenery both at sunset and sunrise.

We were lucky enough to get a room with a view of the mountains.Even though it was on the street side the view was worth it.The street was very quiet by 11pm.

The best parts were certainly the location in Franz Josef and the excellent food and service in the restaurant . Food was great and the hotel staff were extremely helpful.
The decor was poor, there were smells in corridors that were not pleasant and the place needs a facelift to support the good service and staff that were continuously helpful.

Design of room was excellent- liked the walk in robe. Beds and pillows felt very comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
